Was Christmas just a Coincidence?
The gift of Christmas is the gift of Jesus, and it was a gift that was promised. Human promises are kind of iffy—you don’t know if they’re going to come through and make good on their word. But God is really clear in Matthew 1:21 that this is all happening—Jesus is coming to fulfill a promise that was made. Jesus is the fulfillment of a promise. God is very clear: “I will make good on what I promise.” So hear His wonderful promise—and all the other promises of Scripture—that if you are in Christ then He will never leave you nor forsake you. Hear the promise of Jesus that one day He is coming back. What a wonderful gift we have in Jesus!
Like I mentioned above: the gift of Christmas is the gift of Jesus, and it’s a gift that was really well planned. From the beginning of time, Jesus has a long list of descendants. Do you see the genealogies and the gospels that are pointing to say, “This is no accident; this is no coincidence. This is a very planned gift.”
Isn’t that an amazing aspect to our God’s love? He was not just purposeful, but He was planning this event, this occurrence, from eternity past. It’s an amazing gift. So enjoy the planned out gift of Jesus this Christmas.
