Take a Moment for a Daily Devotion
What does pride look like to our children? Especially when they are young, but even as adults, our children seek genuine relationship from us. Arrogance and pride are self-focused, and feel like neglect to our children.
Love expressed as mercy and grace is one of the best ways we can build relational bridges with our children, or anyone for that matter. Strong relationships are where love, grace, and truth can be expressed, which accelerates the opportunity for life change in those we love.
Fellowship in the family of God affirms our identity in Christ. We absolutely need God, and we necessarily need each other.
We must lay aside our former way of life and embrace the new life we have in Christ.
We wait, we pray, we love, and we humble ourselves before our own children and others. By doing so, we build a bridge of communion and communication which can be accessed in time of need when they are ready.
Seeking forgiveness from others is the process of seeking to reconcile, to make right, and possibly even renew a broken relationship. As you reconcile with your child (or children), you are building the relational bridge upon which they can return to you and perhaps to the Father Himself.
