Is Jesus More Than a Good Man?
When some people look at the life of Jesus, they might say, “I can accept that he was a good teacher or a good prophet, but I can’t accept that he is God.” Here are 10 evidences from Scripture about Jesus being more than just a “good man”.
He was born of a virgin.
He fulfilled hundreds of prophecies that are before Him.
The angels worship Him.
He is worthy or worship and receives it.
He has been transfigured.
The disciples claim for Him to be God.
He is without sin.
He has the power to forgive sin.
He not only has the power to heal people, but he can also raise the dead to life.
His own resurrection and ascension into heaven.
Jesus is more than just a good man or a prophet; He is God in the flesh.
So why are the prophecies about Jesus so significant?
One of the most amazing internal evidences that the Bible is true is the writings that made very specific predictions about the life, birth, death, teachings, and miracles of Jesus—and they came true! It’s really amazing. In fact, it’s a statistical impossibility because there are well over 300 prophecies about the life and death of Jesus. If just 8 of those prophecies came true, the statistical probability of that outcome would be 1x10 to the 17th power. Or if he only fulfilled 48 of those prophecies is 1x10 to the 157th power. Just the prophecies alone prove that the Bible is what it says it is: The Word of God.
